Book Fancy
/Hi friends I hope you’ll enjoy today’s piece - the idea came to me after I left a comment on Instagram that totally got my wheels turning and the next thing I knew I was writing this!
This was my thought.
During this crazy time the one thing many are still doing is internet shopping. So if I could go onto Amazon and choose some new Design Books (more books ha!) to enjoy here in the Chalet I’d choose volumes about these creative ladies and their amazing designs!
Let’s start with Natalie Papier of HomeEc Interiors it was her IG feed that I tagged a book publisher that led us here friends.
She, her husband and two kiddos just settled in Charlotte last month and look at the spectacular colors she chose for their #thecharlottechateau
Natalie describes her style as - A Curated Eclectic Vibe with a focus on Art, Vintage and Color.
Do you spy pink and a wall of art! And her light fixtures are amazing!
This master bedroom Natalie and her former design partner Kim Daunis executed for their client leaves me speechless!
Her work has been featured on-line and in magazines. She and her husband were also on an episode of HGTV House Hunters when they were searching for their last home in Oak Park, IL.
The below images are from that house. They had a pink kitchen! I love it!
Ann Lacouture describes her style as - Colorful, Transitional Eclectic. When I asked what transitional meant she shared it means a modernized traditional space with lighter colors and cleaner lines that reference classic styles.
She welcomes all the color, texture and layers into her Florence, OR home but, its never fussy.
Her family of six moved into their custom built home in 2016; after working on the plans for years.
How beautiful is her livingroom - the space is light and the furnishings are stunning.
Ann and husband Brian made play and crafting spaces for the entire family a priority. There is a House Plan Highlight on her IG feed.
Images of Honja of Monday Monday Creative often capture her in motion her creativity on display changing a wall or ceiling with paint or a sharpie! Bringing a beautiful pattern to life whether in the Minneapolis home she shares with her husband and three children or in a clients.
When asked to describe her style Honja shared these thoughts - “I think very thrifty, so my home has come together with hand-me-downs/free/thrifted pieces. However, I don’t use items simply to fill a space, but rather find a way to transform them into something I enjoy. I usually build a room around one or two interesting items. That creates a sturdy base and then I fill it out with interesting patterns and always a bit of quirky juxtaposition. This brings in the creative side to thrifting. My home is an eclectic mix of all things I love, taking inspiration from many different eras and styles, under the creative restrictions of a thrifty budget.”
She and her husband saved for 3yrs and took on the remodeling of the kitchen themselves. You can read about it here.
Honja customized her homes interiors by widening doorways and through paint and furnishings. The homes design was completed with an exterior redo!
The before and afters leave me blown away!
She hand painted her Diningroom ceiling!
I am never shy about my love of Instagram and the remarkable community with so much to admire but, these ladies always make me stop and think - Oh I’d like a piece of Art in my home like Natalie has, or I have a remnant of fabric and could cover a lampshade the way Ann did or I’m going to purchase a gold sharpie and let Honja and her designs guide me.
I couldn’t be happier to share these women and I encourage you to check out their feeds, give a follow and support their businesses.
Gals when that book deal happens I want an autographed copy please!
Til next time! Stay Home and Stay Safe! xo
