Big Green Barn Visit

This week I’m sharing a field trip. Last month I visited Susan Brierly Bush at her Big Green Barn located in Morris County, NJ. She holds a few Barn Sales a Year.

There were so many treasures friends!

These bowls with the yellow flower are vintage Blue Ridge. Aren’t they sweet? I have a few pieces of the Cherry design that belonged to my mother Rita.

So many amazing lamps.

Art, Decorative pieces, Furniture, Lamps, Pillows - all wonderfully curated!

Susan, Me and my dear friend Kristin.

After finding a few treasures Kristin and I popped over to The Black Horse Pub.

  • Kristin found incredible pillows and art. The crewel embroidery is brilliant!

  • I adore my little white and blue man and this Williamsburg art is so cool.

Susan recently opened a shop Big Green Barn - Harding (already nicknamed by shoppers - Little Green Barn) along the charming Country Mile in Harding, NJ at 912 Mt. Kemble Ave. (same as Route 202 between Morristown and Bernardsville.) Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10-4pm. Now we don’t have to wait for a few sales a year we can shop anytime! Yippy!

The best days are spent with friends - if a little shopping and prosecco is included all the better!

Til next time friends I encourage you to visit Susan with a friend!

Every Day Art

This week I’m sharing images of art. What I like so much about these images and this art is these are quick snaps on a phone of everyday moments.

I always say everything is art!

Typewriter and Striped Wallpaper / Yes Ma’am by Jordan Grace Owens

I recently found Tammy Alfultis on Instagram. I asked about the wonderful art in her home - which of course quickly turned into me asking if I could share it here with all of you. Happily she said yes!

Tammy snapped the typewriter at an estate sale and placed it in a thrifted frame. The theater seats were photographed by her at City Museum in St. Louis almost ten years ago.

Theater Seats

The FAIR - an actual Fair advertisement Tammy framed.

Tammy loved the graphic nature of this Fair advertisement and adding this pop of green to her collection.

Our Hands / Tony’s

Our Hands is of Tammy and her children and the print below is a copy of the menu for Tony’s the drive-in her Grandfather previously owned.

Dad

Tammy loves how these four school wallet photos of her Dad were never cut apart. She found them after he passed away and decided she wanted to have this sweet reminder around.

Dipped and Dyed This image of Easter Eggs lives in their hallway

Balloons and Cake taken at her daughters 9th birthday party.

All these images yell summertime. The Baby Pool of Tammy’s daughter and youngest son in their driveway; the enticing Snowcones and light playing on the surface of the water in Swimming Pool Shadows.

Stocking Stuffers an image of her youngest son’s goodies hangs above his bed.

To print images Tammy utilizes MPIX a lot but has used Shutterfly, Timeshel and Walgreens. For frames, Tammy told me she loves thrifted ones but, tends to gravitate toward more simple streamlined options and IKEA is a great resource.

I encourage you to scroll through your camera roll, have an image printed, grab a frame and get it up on your wall! I also hope you will pop over to Tammy’s Instagram account and give her a follow!

Til next time friends be well.
